Oats Upma


Ingredients

  • Semolina – 250g
  • Urad dal – 1 tsp
  • Chana dal – 1 tsp
  • Red onion – 1
  • Tomato – 1
  • Lemon – 1
  • Carrot – 1
  • French beans – 6
  • Ginger – 1/2
  • Green chillies – 4
  • Curd – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida – A pinch
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Red chillies – 2
  • Coriander leaves – Few
  • curry leaves – Few
  • Ghee – Required
  • Salt – Required
  • Oil – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

  1. Heat a pan and add oats and fry for 50 minutes till the raw smell goes off and keep aside
  2. And fry till it become brownish in medium flame, turn off the flame and transferred this into a plate and keep aside
  3. Chop onions, tomatoes, grate ginger, slit green chillies, chop carrots, chop french beans, chop coriander leaves and keep them aside separately
  4. Take a pan and heat oil then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, once it crackle add urad dal, chana dal, red chillies
  5. Once dals become golden, add onion and green chillies, curry leaves and fry them till become golden brown
  6. Then add tomatoes and salt and saute them till it become mushy
  7. After that add asafoetida, ginger, turmeric powder and saute them for 1 minute
  8. Then add carrots, french beans, curd and cook them for 3 minutes
  9. After that add oats and required salt and stir it well
  10. Close the lid and cook it for 8 minutes in low flame
  11. Turn off the flame, open the lid and finally sprinkle coriander leaves
  12. Now the healthy Oats Upma is ready for serve
