Paal Kolakattai – பால் கொழுக்கட்டை


  • Rice – 250g
  • Jaggery – Required
  • Coconut – 1/2
  • Cardamom – 3
  • Ghee – Required
  • Salt – Required
  • Oil – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

  1. Dry roast 120g of rice, make it cool and grind them like a powder, grate cardamom, grate 1/2 coconut and keep them aside separately
  2. Soak of the rice in water for 6 hours and grind them like a dosa batter and keep aside
  3. Take a bowl and add 2 tsp oil then add rice flour followed by rice batter
  4. By using hand mix it well till become think batter and marinate for 30 minutes
  5. Grind 1 coconut with water and extract milk from it and keep aside
  6. Dissolve jaggery in water and filter it and make them like a syrup
  7. Heat the pan and add 200ml water followed by jaggery syrup, cardamom powder for 10 minutes.
  8. Then add prepared kollukattai one by one then add grated coconut and stir them for 2 minutes
  9. Allow them to cook for 10 minutes then finally add coconut milk and stir them well for 3 minutes
  10. Once it boils, turn off the and make it cool down then transferred into a bowl
  11. Now the Delicious Paal Kolukattai is ready for serve
