Semiya Upma


Ingredients

  • Vermicelli – 250g
  • Urad dal – 1 tsp
  • Chana dal – 1 tsp
  • Red onion – 1
  • Carrot – 1
  • French beans – 6
  • Green peas – 50g
  • Green chillies – 4
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – Few
  • curry leaves – Few
  • Ghee – Required
  • Salt – Required
  • Oil – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

  1. Chop onions, tomatoes, grate ginger, slit green chillies, chop carrots, chop french beans chop coriander leaves and keep them aside separately
  2. Take a pan and heat 2 tsp oil and 1 tsp ghee then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds once it crackle add urad dal, chana dal, red chillies
  3. Once dals become golden, add onion and green chillies, curry leaves and fry them till become golden brown
  4. Then add carrots, green peas, french beans and salt and saute them, close the lid and cook them for 5 minutes
  5. After that add vermicelli and 250g water and required salt and stir it well for 5 minutes till water drains out
  6. Close the lid and allow them to cook for 5 minutes in low flame
  7. Turn off the flame and transfer into a plate
  8. Now the delicious Semiya Upma is ready for serve
